Privacy Policy

Information you provide

When you request a demonstration through our website, the form asks for:

• your name;
• your work email address;
• your company;
• your role, selected from a list;
• your organization size, selected from a list;
• your primary area of interest, selected from a list; and
• optionally, a description of what you are trying to solve.

If you email us or reply to one of our messages, we receive the contents of that communication and the contact details that come with it. If you use Foreman services, we receive the account and business contact information needed to provide access, and the information you or your organization choose to submit to Foreman, such as work items and delivery information.

Information collected automatically

• Request information. When you visit the website, our hosting provider receives technical information needed to deliver the page, such as your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, the referring page, and timestamps, and records it in operational logs.
• Abuse prevention. When you submit the demo form, your IP address is used to limit repeated submissions. This check is held in server memory for a short window and is not written to a database.
• Website analytics. We measure website usage, such as pages viewed, referring sites, general browser, operating system, and device type, and approximate country. See Analytics and Similar Technologies below.
• Diagnostic information. If an email about a demo request cannot be delivered, we log operational details, such as the email provider’s status code and message identifier. These logs are designed to exclude your email address, your message, and any assessment figures.

Business Value Assessment

The Business Value Assessment is designed to perform its calculations in your browser. Assessment inputs are not submitted to Foreman merely by using the calculator, and copying or downloading your summary happens locally on your device.

If you choose to include your assessment summary with a demo request, the summary is held temporarily in your browser’s session storage so it can be shown on the demo form. You can review it there and remove it before submitting. If you submit the form with the summary included, or paste a summary into a message to us, that submitted summary becomes information you provide to us.

We use information to:

• provide and operate the website and Foreman services;
• respond to demonstration and information requests, including sending a confirmation that we received your request;
• communicate with prospects and customers about Foreman;
• maintain the security and reliability of the website and services;
• troubleshoot problems, such as undelivered email;
• prevent misuse, such as automated or repeated form submissions;
• measure website usage and improve Foreman; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not use information collected through this website for targeted advertising, and we do not add demo requesters to unrelated marketing lists.

Foreman may coordinate work performed through customer-selected AI, source-control, deployment, testing, security, or other software-development providers. Those providers may process information under the customer’s own account, agreement, configuration, and policies.

Foreman does not own or operate those third-party AI models. Whether a third-party provider retains information or uses it to improve its own models is governed by the customer’s agreement with that provider, and customers should review those terms.

With Private Runner, third-party provider credentials remain in your environment. Foreman receives the operational results and evidence it needs—not those provider credentials.

Private Runner is one way to use Foreman; not every use of Foreman requires it.

We share information with service providers that help us operate the website and respond to requests, and only for those purposes:

• Vercel, which hosts the website, processes requests to it, and provides website analytics;
• Twilio SendGrid, which delivers email about demo requests, including the notification to our team and the confirmation sent to you; and
• Cloudflare, which streams the video on our homepage. When the video loads, your browser requests it from Cloudflare, which receives standard technical information such as your IP address and browser information.

We may also disclose information:

• when required by law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request;
• when reasonably necessary to protect the security of our website, services, customers, or others, or to prevent fraud or misuse;
• to professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, under confidentiality obligations; and
• in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

Customers may connect or use Foreman alongside third-party systems. Those third parties process information under their own agreements and privacy practices.

A customer’s use of source-control platforms such as GitHub, AI providers, verification and testing systems, and deployment services may be governed by the customer’s relationship with those providers. This Policy does not describe, and we are not responsible for, the privacy practices of those third parties.

Where Foreman processes information on a customer’s behalf, the customer generally decides why that information is processed, and our handling of it is governed by our agreement with that customer. If your information was provided to Foreman by your employer or another Foreman customer, we may refer your request to that organization.

Foreman’s Private Runner is designed so execution that requires customer-controlled provider credentials can occur within the customer’s environment. With Private Runner, third-party provider credentials remain in your environment, and Foreman receives the results and evidence necessary to coordinate the workflow.

Provider credentials are different from the account and sign-in information used to access Foreman itself. When you use Foreman services, we process the information needed to authenticate users and secure access to Foreman. The “Sign in” link on this website opens the Foreman application; this website does not collect sign-in credentials.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the website is used, such as which pages are viewed and which sites refer visitors. Vercel Web Analytics is designed to measure visits without using cookies.

This website does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. Business Value Assessment inputs and results are not included in usage measurements.

The website uses your browser’s session storage only to carry an assessment summary you chose to include to the demo form. Session storage stays on your device and is cleared when you submit that summary, remove it, or close the browser tab.

If we introduce cookies or similar technologies that require notice or consent under applicable law, we will update this Policy and provide any required choice before using them.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, respond to requests, maintain business and security records, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected.

Customer agreements may set specific retention or deletion requirements for information processed under them.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. You can contact us to ask to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate information;
• delete your information;
• object to or restrict certain processing, or receive a portable copy, where applicable law provides those rights; and
• stop receiving communications from us about Foreman.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some rights are subject to exceptions under applicable law. Where the law provides one, you may appeal our response by replying to it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where applicable law requires it, we take steps intended to provide appropriate protection for information transferred across borders.

Foreman is a business software service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy as our website, services, or legal obligations change. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above, and we will provide additional notice of material changes where required by law.
